About
Product designer, technologist, and maker based in Boulder, CO
Background
I'm a product designer with over two decades of experience building tools that help people work better. I've led design at companies like Zapier, Whimsical, HashiCorp, and SendGrid, focusing on creating experiences that balance power with simplicity.
My approach combines deep technical understanding with a focus on craft. I believe the best design is nearly invisible—it gets out of the way and lets people focus on their work.
I'm drawn to problems that sit at the intersection of complexity and usability.
Interests
Outside of work, I spend time in the mountains of the West—climbing, gravel biking, and boondocking in our converted van, Dieter. I deeply appreciate tools and craftsmanship, whether that's well-designed software or thoughtfully made objects.
In my earlier life, I trained as a fine artist and remain deeply drawn to that realm of work, particularly postmodernism.
I'm an advocate for calm technology and sustainable design. I believe our tools should enhance our lives without demanding constant attention. I embrace the ethos of buying less, creating more, and reusing whenever possible.
